Cooperation Agreement Signing Between YAKOPI and the Directorate General of Disadvantaged Regions Development Acceleration: Advancing Sustainable Coastal Development through Collaboration

On June 25, 2025, Yayasan Konservasi Pesisir Indonesia (YAKOPI) signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with Directorate General of Disadvantaged Regions Development Acceleration (PPDT) at The Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Office. This agreement was formally signed by Mr. Eling Tuhono, Director of YAKOPI, and Mr. Samsul Widodo, General Director of PPDT. This collaboration marked as a strategic step in fostering synergy to accelerate the development in coastal and disadvantaged regions through the integration between environmental conservation and community empowerment efforts. This cooperation agreement acts as the direct step after the signing of MoU with the Ministry of Village and Disadvantaged Regions of Indonesia on June 23, 2025.

During this event, General Director, Mr. Samsul Widodo expressed his greatest appreciation through YAKOPI’s consistent efforts in supporting rural development through an environmental and community-centered approach. He emphasized his hope that this collaboration will continue to grow, expand, and allow more communities particularly those in rural and vulnerable coastal villages to obtain the benefit from both ecological and economic advancements.

Through the close collaboration between the government and YAKOPI, it is expected that an inclusive, sustainable, and resilient development of ecosystem will appear to strengthen the social and economic resilience of Indonesia’s coastal communities while safeguarding natural ecosystems for future generations.

Let us get involved together "save mangroves and save coastal communities from economic downturns and loss of biodiversity in mangrove forests ".
