Global warming and its effect on climate is one of the crucial and urgent problems facing the world today. Young people are at the forefront of finding the inspiration and courage for this change. Therefore, YAKOPI held a school visit entitled “YAKOPI Goes To School: Mangroves for Climate Change Mitigation” with SMK Negeri 1 Teluk Mengkudu.

The activity begins with a Pre-Test which is packaged in the form of a group quiz to find out the initial understanding of climate change. Then continued the discussion on the socialization of the importance of mangroves in overcoming global climate change solutions and the practice of mangrove propagules nursery. The activity was closed with an evaluation quiz to see how far this socialization increased their understanding of world climate change.

Climate change is very influential on various sectors of life ranging from environmental, social, economic to human health. Therefore, YAKOPI hopes that with this activity many young people are more concerned and motivated to participate in preventing the wider impact of climate change so as to create a better world condition.
