Earth is the only habitable planet in the universe known to harbor life and a home to millions of species. As the only habitable planet in the solar system, it is more than just about air, water, distance from the sun and earth is the only soil, water, and air that fits all the needs of life. Since our planet is the only biosphere for all species, it has been undergoing a confluence of rapidly accelerating changes caused by a single species: human.

Simply put if we don’t protect nature, we can’t protect ourselves. Where is the Love that we thought we have if we don’t want stop the destruction of our natural world nothing else will matter. YAKOPI needs you to help us raise awareness by spreading the Love! 

World Mangrove Day brings us to memorize our earth needs the unique plant which only can live in coastlines area. They contribute to the wellbeing, food security, and protection of coastal communities worldwide.

YAKOPI is taking a closer look to some areas such Sumatra Utara, Aceh, Nias, and Riau. At Sumatra Utara, YAKOPI held the World Mangrove Day in many areas  in Langkat, District of Gebang, Dogang Village. YAKOPI hosted a drawing and colouring competition for elementary school students, mangrove planting activities with students and community, and bazaar for MSME products. At Aceh, YAKOPI held 5,000 mangroves planting with Danlanal Simeulue in Aceh, District of Simeulue, Linggi Village. At Nias Selatan, YAKOPI held 2,000 mangroves planting with Danlanal Nias, District of Fanayama, Hiliofonaluo Village. At Riau, YAKOPI held 200,000 mangroves planting with Provincial Government, District of Bukit Batu, Buruk Bakul Vilage.

YAKOPI declares to raise awareness of the importance of mangrove ecosystems as a unique, special, and vulnerable ecosystem, as well as to promote the solutions for their sustainable management, conservation, and use.

As a result, the only way we can solve a problem is by a human solution. Never we sit back and wait for miracles to save us, miracles don’t happen. Sweat happens, effort happens, thought happens. As Michael Jackson ever said for you and for me and the entire human race.
