Yakopi together with reforestAction have carried out school awareness activities at the Misbahul Ummah Integrated Islamic Elementary School in Pematang Kuala on Saturday, March 2 2024. This activity was carried out in conjunction with commemorating National Waste Awareness Day. This activity was carried out to increase community capacity with a focus on young people. The activity began with the delivery of material regarding the mangrove ecosystem, apart from that, learning modules were also distributed which the students could read. Not only that, students are also invited to collect rubbish to teach awareness about the importance of protecting the environment. YAKOPI hopes that this activity can increase young people’s awareness of environmental concerns, especially related to the issue of climate change and the benefits of mangroves as climate change mitigation.
