YAKOPI Promotes Mangrove Conservation and Coastal Community Empowerment at HUTAN.ID FEST 2026 Chapter Sumatera
Pekanbaru, Indonesia – 25 October 2026 – Yayasan Konservasi Pesisir Indonesia (YAKOPI) participated in HUTAN.ID FEST 2026 Chapter Sumatera, held from 23–25 October 2026 at Mall Ciputra, Pekanbaru. Under the theme “Bangga Hutan Indonesia” (Proud of Indonesia’s Forests), the three-day event provided an opportunity to raise public awareness of forest conservation, promote environmental sustainability, and strengthen connections between conservation initiatives and local communities.
Throughout the event, YAKOPI showcased its ongoing initiatives in mangrove ecosystem restoration, coastal conservation, and community empowerment. Through its exhibition booth, YAKOPI engaged with visitors, shared experiences from its conservation programs, and highlighted the importance of community participation in protecting coastal ecosystems and supporting sustainable livelihoods.
Beyond environmental awareness, YAKOPI also introduced a range of community-made products developed through its coastal community empowerment programs. These products reflect the potential of local resources to create economic opportunities and generate added value for coastal communities. By connecting community products with a wider audience, YAKOPI aims to encourage greater appreciation for locally produced goods while supporting the economic resilience of the communities behind them.
The exhibition also served as a platform for meaningful conversations and knowledge exchange among visitors, conservation practitioners, and other stakeholders. These interactions reinforced the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges and demonstrated how conservation efforts can go hand in hand with community well-being.
As HUTAN.ID FEST 2026 Chapter Sumatera concluded, YAKOPI expressed its sincere appreciation to the organizers, partners, visitors, and everyone who contributed to the success of the event. Special gratitude was extended to those who visited the YAKOPI booth, engaged with its initiatives, and supported community-made products throughout the three-day exhibition.
For YAKOPI, every interaction and purchase represents more than participation in an exhibition. It reflects growing public recognition of the dedication, skills, and aspirations of coastal communities working toward more sustainable livelihoods.Embracing the spirit of “Bangga Hutan Indonesia,” YAKOPI hopes to inspire continued collective action toward protecting Indonesia’s natural ecosystems while creating meaningful opportunities for the communities whose lives and livelihoods are closely connected to them.
